Greater Sage-grouse Species Survival Plan

Priority Outcomes for Sage-grouse SSP

1. Sage Grouse populations will remain stable or increase in population in their historic range throughout mineral extraction phases.
2. Using science based information (i.e. GIS and data from research) critical sage-grouse habitat areas will be identified and set-aside from development activities. Set-aside areas will be determined with enforceable guarantees that they will not be developed.
3. Habitat improvement methodologies will be proven before they are applied and/or accepted as mitigation.
4. New leases in sagebrush steppe ecosystem will be developed only after the creation and approval of a reclamation and mitigation plan with a time table.
